Band 7 Non Medical Prescriber/Nurse Prescriber

Amber Valley Older Adults Community Mental Health Team is looking for an enthusiastic Band 7 Community Psychiatric Nurse with a recorded prescribing qualification to join their busy and friendly team based at Ripley Resource Centre. Our team operates Monday – Friday 9am-5pm, excluding bank holidays.

This is a new and exciting role with opportunities for development of the role as it becomes more embedded within the team.

The work will involve assessing, treating and supporting older adults with mental ill health who live predominantly in the Amber Valley area. Due to the geographic area covered by the team there will be occasions where working in other localities will be required. As such you will need to have the ability to travel across a specified geographical area.

You will need to have recent relevant experience of dealing with older people with organic and functional mental ill health, preferably in a community setting.

These posts will suit an enthusiastic, driven, motivated and flexible NMP with demonstrable experience of working in an independent prescribing practitioner role. Arrangements for Consultant support and prescribing supervision are in place. The post holder will be required to engage in CPD including a mix of self-directed learning and mentored practice supported by internally and externally taught training. As a practitioner, you will assess patients who present with urgent but not life-threatening illness and injury plan their care, administer treatment on site and discharge supported by the Team Consultant Psychiatrist and CMHT colleagues where required. Where on site treatment is not appropriate you will refer to other healthcare professionals / external agencies.

This is a very supportive team and you will be encouraged to continue your professional development with the help of regular supervision and access to training opportunities.
