Applications for the Band 7 post are welcomed from trainee Clinical Psychologists expecting to qualify and register with the HCPC in the near future (i.e. October, 2018).
Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Trust has recently undergone an exciting period of transformation with established adult recovery teams and community mental health teams for older people coming together to create a Neighbourhood Team working more closely with Primary Care and other local agencies to enhance the recovery pathway of our patient population. At the same time Memory Assessment Services were commissioned to provide high quality assessment and diagnosis for those individuals with suspected dementia.
This post is designed to provide additional sessions to the Derby CIty Neighbourhood Team with a focus of working with Older People and providing the post holder with the opportunity of enhancing their skills in appropriate evidenced based therapies and neuro- psychological assessment through contributing to the assessment of older people referred to the Neighbourhood Team.
We are looking for a flexible and innovative Clinical Psychologist to provide a high quality clinical service to older people through direct clinical work for complex cases, and to offer advice and support to other professionals working within the Multi- disciplinary teams. This post offers an excellent opportunity to deploy and further develop post qualification specialist skills and experience in providing therapy and in addition psychometric assessment for individuals with a suspected cognitive impairment. Support within the context of well established multidisciplinary working and high quality supervision from an experienced psychologist will be available.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with people with a broad range of complex mental health problems and needs (including those arising from an organic impairment), with experience of evidence-based psychological interventions.. You will be committed to multidisciplinary team working, have excellent relationship-building skills and be capable of managing varied work demands.
The post holder will become part of a Derbyshire – wide supportive, well respected and valued Clinical Psychology Service. There are strong links with the local Clinical Psychology Training Courses. Excellent opportunities for peer support, supervision and CPD are available
The post holder will be, registered with the Health & Care Professions Council Chartered with the BPS, and must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
