An opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join the multi-disciplinary team on The Beeches Mother and Baby Unit, and gain experience of the knowledge and skills needed to nurse women who are acutely ill during the perinatal period.
The Beeches is a six-bedded in-patient unit based at the Radbourne Unit, Royal Derby Hospital. It is accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists Perinatal Mental Health Care Quality Network. It provides care and treatment for mothers, along with their babies, who are experiencing severe and complex mental health problems during the antenatal and postnatal period. As part of their recovery process you will be able to work alongside the dedicated Perinatal Community Mental Health Team supporting women across the whole care pathway.
The applicant must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as the environment can be stressful at times.
Supervision and learning opportunities will be available along with a programme of induction on appointment.
Please be aware that this is a 24 hour service so you will be working a shift system which includes rotation onto nights.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
