An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated dietitian to join the mental health dietetics team in Derbyshire.

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust can offer you a rewarding career where you will be valued as a key member of our team and every day you will be able to make a difference to the lives of our patients.

We are looking for a band 5 dietitian, with recent post-registration experience, who is looking for the next step in their career. We also welcome applications from newly qualified dietitians who are interested in working within mental health; a growing and forward thinking area of dietetic practice.

The successful applicant will be provided with training and a structured competency framework to support them to develop the knowledge and skills required to progress towards a band 6 specialist dietitian role.

You will be responsible for a varied clinical caseload and providing a dietetics service to our mental health inpatient units, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams. In addition to clinical work your role will include delivering staff training, student training and supporting our hospital catering department.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute towards service development and help shape the delivery of nutritional care within a mental health setting.

The successful applicant will be supported by a small and friendly team who are committed to continued professional development and training opportunities. Clinical supervision will be provided by a specialist mental health dietitian.

The post will be based at the Kingsway Hospital in Derby; however ability to travel to various locations across Derbyshire is required.

If you can demonstrate the willingness to learn and undertake a new challenge we look forward to hearing from you! Part time and flexible working opportunities are available.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
