Children’s Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy Service
Early Years Team.
Currently based at the Ronnie MacKeith Centre at Royal Derby Hospital working in clinic and visiting homes and nurseries within Derby & Southern Derbyshire
A Therapy Technical Instructor is required to work alongside qualified Paediatric Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in our early years team.
The successful candidate will work as part of the paediatric team, to assist Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists in the treatment of individual or groups of children; to carry out Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy programmes set by the therapists, monitoring progress and providing appropriate feedback and to aid in the assessment, setting up and monitoring of enabling equipment such as special seating, feeding aids etc.
To assist in the efficient functioning of the therapy department the post will also involve a significant amount of clerical and administrative duties. It would therefore suit someone with an administrative background wanting to work more directly with children and families or a person with existing experience working with children who would be willing to develop their administrative skills.
Our team encourages originality and innovation. Amongst our team member we have award winning therapists; published authors and representatives on national committees.
Derbyshire with its wonderful surrounding countryside is a fantastic place to live and work. We operate flexible working arrangements. Regular supervision is provided and we encourage training and personal development.
This is a community post and will involve travelling between appointments on a regular basis, access to transport to undertake work duties is therefore essential. Allowances are payable.
