Note this post has been designed to be in addition to an existing employment contract within DHCFT.

The Dementia Rapid Response Team provides patient centered treatment at home in order to prevent hospital admission. The service will run 7 days a week 8am to 8pm providing expert interventions to people experiencing challenging and difficult behaviors often associated with an advanced dementia. The team provides short term, intensive input to individuals across the whole of south Derbyshire supporting people with dementia to retain quality of life and remain in their own home environments for as long as possible.

We are looking for an adaptable, innovative Clinical Psychologist with experience of working with people with dementia and their carers within a community setting.    The post holder will have opportunities to offer direct clinical work for complex cases, and offer advice, training and support to other professionals working within the team and associated services.  Service evaluation/research and training, and consultation to other MDT members will be a key function of this role.  As a member of an established team this post offers an excellent opportunity to deploy and further develop post qualification specialist skills and experience of working with people with dementia and their formal and informal carers within the context of supportive multidisciplinary working.

 

Excellent opportunities for peer support, supervision and CPD are available

 

The post holder will need to be registered with the Health & Care Professions Council Chartered with the BPS, and must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post
