An exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Practitioner with at least two years post registration experience has arisen to join the Chesterfield and North East Derbyshire, Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team. Your main base will be at Chesterfield. The Chesterfield Crisis Team is a large team consisting of Consultant psychiatrists, Service manager, Senior Nurse, Lead Nurses, Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapist, Support Workers and Administration staff. They work closely with Neighbourhood Teams based in Derbyshire.

This well established, multi-disciplinary team offers a high quality assessment and home treatment service as an alternative to hospital admission, to individuals experiencing acute mental health crisis. Working in partnership with clients, families and existing service providers, the team offers a range of interventions and approaches aimed at emphasizing hope and optimism, and developing personal strengths to help achieve recovery. The CRHTT remit brings us into contact with clients with a range of mental health, social, psychological and situational difficulties within the diverse population of Derbyshire.

As a service we are looking for individuals who are genuinely warm and engaging and focussed on client / customer satisfaction. They will be a good communicator, demonstrate respect and dignity. We strive to display common courtesies, listen more than we speak, explain why, and act when something isn’t right.

We Act as Gate Keepers to hospital admission, and have the philosophy of a “hospital at home” vision. We work with patients with complex mental health needs and offer treatment in the least restrictive environment. We focus on empowerment and recovery for the service user and their families.

Risk assessment and formulation skills are essential together with experience of working with people with severe mental illness. The applicant must hold a relevant Mental Health professional qualification with a minimum of two years post registration experience and applied knowledge and training in therapeutic interventions such as CBT, Solution Focussed Therapy is desirable. This is a 24 hour service across a 7 day week, 365 days per year and as such the successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a 24 hour rota, including nights.

As a large part of the team's work involves assessing people in mental health crisis within a variety of settings and challenging situations, applicants must be familiar with and engage in assessments on a regular basis and meet the travel requirements of the post.

We will be holding the interviews for this position on Wednesday the 4th of July in Chesterfield.

Applicant requirements

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.

Applications from job seekers who require Tier 2 sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. However, non-EEA candidates may not be appointed to a post if a suitably qualified, experienced and skilled EU/EEA candidate is available to take up the post as the employing body is unlikely, in these circumstances, to satisfy the resident labour market test. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requires employers to complete this test to show that no suitably qualified EEA or EU worker can fill the post. For further information please visit the UKVI website. From 6 April 2017, Tier 2 skilled worker applicants, applying for entry clearance into the UK, must present a criminal record certificate from each country they have resided continuously or cumulatively for 12 months or more in the past 10 years. Adult dependants (over 18 years old) will also be subject to this requirement. Guidance can be found here Criminal Records Checks for Overseas Applicants.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
